week 6 post 3: learned

From this source I learned a lot about memory retention and ways gamification can improve it. Our brains processes information in the working memory. and by presenting information through visual and auditory our brains can accommodate more new information. but it can be overloaded which might stop the integration of the new information into our long-term memory. So that is why it is important to learn in small chucks of information at a time. It is also important that the information is organized because if it's not, it makes it difficult to process it too. So, that's why the source brought this up in education because it is common to have too much information to process at a time, and this helped connect gamification to education.

I learned that gamification could solve the issues of information overload through smaller chucks of organized information. It can solve this because gamification focuses on breaking information into small chucks of organized information and using repetitive methods to increase memory retention. This is also why gamification works because it optimizes our brain's natural ability to process and retain new information.
