week 4 post 3: memory

In this week's lesson i learned about the psychological aspects of Human Computer Interaction. It focused mostly on memory and how we can use that makes our interfaces easier for users to understand and processes. we learned a lot about how humans can understand information is chunks of four to five, and chucking is the method best used to retain short term information which later leads into long term in practiced efficiently and consistently.

I learned that is important to not overload users with information, because it would make it difficult to use the interface. So, a question I have is when and how does Human Computer Interaction use cognitive resources to make users remember information that passes from the short term to the long term. What is an example of it being applied to an interface.

  1. How do you think teachers could take a lesson from HCI and not "overload users with information"?
