week 2 post 3: reflection

In this week's lesson, I learned that the three roles' humans can pay on Human Computer Interaction, are from the psychological schools of thought. The processor view comes from the behaviorism, the predictor view comes from cognitive psychology and the participant view resembles functionalism. I knew that Human Computer Interaction had a connection to Psychology, but I did not know that each main important role came from a specific psychological school of thought. I wonder how else we can use psychology with Human computer interaction to advance technology. I also wonder how the use of psychology has advanced technology.

Another thing I learned this week is basic fundamentals that is necessary to understand before being fully introduced into design principles. I did not know that there were steps to understand design principles. one of the steps is understanding the idea that interfaces mediate between users and tasks. Something that has been emphasized a lot in this course is that the main focus, should be on the task than the interface. Also, our interfaces should allow the user to focus and spend as much time on thinking about the task as possible than the interface itself.
